A plan to allow campers to register earlier for Kouchibouguac Park, appears to have worked.
Registration numbers are up 73 per cent for the National Park, as compared to 2015.
Visitor Experience Manager Jerome Lussier says campers were eager to get the season started, “Traditionally, Parks Canada opened up the registration site around April 15th every year, but this year we started three months earlier, in late January. Reservations have been coming in ever since then.”
Lussier says the camping season at the park officially begin this week, and they had such high demand, they had to create a waiting list.
