Saint John firefighters responded to a minor blaze at a law firm on Carleton Street around lunchtime.
Platoon Chief Kevin Comeau says the Carleton Law Group building is undergoing renovations and someone was using a heat gun which overheated in one corner of the building causing the fire but crews were able to knock it down before the fire made its way into the inside of the building.
“All the employees were out, everyone was evacuated for safety precautions,” says Platoon Chief Comeau.
Comeau says it’s fortunate that they were able to get there quickly and extinguish the fire.
