Grade 7 and 8 students from Barnhill Memorial, Harry Miller, Rothesay Park and Hampton Middle took part in a program from the Learning Partnership called “investigate, innovate and invent.”
Darren White of the Anglophone South School District says the goal was for students to design a product that would solve real world problems, and some were showcased in Brunswick Square earlier today.
White says an invention convention was held at each school and the top projects were chosen to represent their school at the district level.
He says it shows the students what’s possible when you think outside the box a little bit and also shows them that learning doesn’t always have to be something your doing out of a textbook.
White says it also teaches students to take risks with confidence.
