Participating campgrounds across the country are holding a special fundraiser tonight for Make-A-Wish Canada.
Canadian RV Association Executive Director Shane Devenish says the goal is to raise $20,000, which will go towards making children’s wishes come true who want to go camping.
Devenish says last year, they were able to buy a young boy in Nova Scotia a brand new camper because his wish was to take his family on a camping trip.
He says lanterns will be sold at participating campgrounds with all proceeds going to Make-A-Wish and says special gatherings will take place at participating campgrounds starting tonight at 10pm.
The fundraiser celebrates the end of Canadian RVing and Camping Week.
