Around 5000 highly skilled individuals will transition out of the military next year, and about a third of them are looking for work, that according to an organization called Canada’s Company.
They offer the Military Employment Transition program.
Director of Transition Services Dwayne Cormier they are launching an Atlantic Chapter this year, “Our program assists those who are leaving the forces or who have left the forces to be able to find work, gainful employment, their dream job, and self-employment. We teach veterans and spouses how to find work in a competitive environment.”
Tomorrow and Wednesday this week, they will hold a special conference in Halifax. Cormier says, “It will get veterans in front of our military friendly certified employers. We have 39 employers, from across the country, and our veterans will go in and speak to HR professionals, with the hopes of securing a job.”
