The Tatamagouche Brewing Company was raising a glass of ale over the weekend as they celebrated a big win.
The Company was recognized with three medals at the National Brewing Awards last week. Two gold for their Giantess Barley Wine and Russian Imperial Stout and a Bronze for their Two Rivers Baltic Porter.
This meant some excitement for Moncton Brewer Matt Kenny, who is the Head Brewer for the company.
He joined the team when the Company launched two years ago.
Brewery Manager Christiane Jost says they didn’t expect such a big win, due to increased competition this year.
The judges had to whittle down the entries to 163 medal winners across 55 categories for this year’s awards. There were over 1400 entries across the country in the Canadian Brewing Awards, up from 1300 beer in 2015.
