It’s official!
The new Mayor and St. Stephen Council have been sworn in during the Oath of Office ceremony at the Garcelon Civic Center.
Mayor Allan McEachern says there is tremendous enthusiasm throughout St. Stephen, community engagement is at an all-time high, and residents are taking note of all the positive things happening around them.
He says it’s a good time for our town right now, “Businesses are flourishing, and new businesses are opening. People around the province are talking about St. Stephen, and we are giving them something to talk about. We are all excited to be a part of the momentum and we will continue to move St. Stephen forward.”
The ceremony at the Civic Center saw about 100 in attendance, and the Milltown Elementary School Choir serenaded the crowd with a few selections for the event.
Jason Carr was sworn in as the new Deputy Mayor of St. Stephen, along with councillors Marg Harding, Dave Hyslop, Ken Parker, Phil Chisolm, and Ghislaine Wheaton.
