You can learn how to prevent child abuse at a information session tonight.
Jessica Lanigan is a child abuse survivor and founder of Project Roar–a non-profit that raises awareness about child sexual abuse.
She tells us she speaks a lot about the grooming process which is how predators choose a child taking several steps to make sure they can gain the trust of the child and their family.
She says they look for a child from a single parent home, who have parents that aren’t really involved or parents who are struggling.
Lanigan says child predators look for victims that have a need of some sort so they can fill that need.
An information session for adults on sexual abuse prevention is being held tonight at the qplex beginning at 630pm.
