A monument in memory of the three RCMP constables who were killed in Moncton on June 4, 2014 will be unveiled at Riverfront Park on Saturday.
Doug Larche, Fabrice Gevaudan and Dave Ross will be immortalized in bronze.
New Brunswick’s top Mountie, Assistant Commissioner Roger Brown, says he will never forget the outpouring of support from the community during Moncton’s darkest hour.
“You couldn’t go into the detachment, it was full of food. Look at the front of the detachment, people painting pictures, people giving of their skill sets. Someone says ‘I do this’, can I help you?” he notes.
Brown has also decided to retire from the RCMP on the second anniversary of the tragedy.
The public unveiling of the monument will take place at 11-am Saturday behind the Moncton Press Club.
