On Thursday, the Marigold Project will celebrate is 19th year when more than 7000 students from 50 schools plant more than 140,000 marigolds in 55 different locations.
It all started back in 1997 and the City of Saint John has been a proud supporter of the event from the beginning. The City also benefits from the beauty and good will adding the flowers to Main Street North brings every year.
The opening ceremonies for the Saint John event will start on Thursday at 9:30am in front of McDonalds and will include the planting of marigolds along Main Street, a presentation of the Marigold Awards celebrating community volunteerism, the Centennial School Choir singing O Canada and the Marigold Song and more.
