This week’s cabinet shuffle is significant according to Rick Doucet, the MLA for Fundy The Isles-Saint John West, who will be responsible for getting the government’s legislation passed as Government House leader.
The opposition has accused the provincial government of sending out the message that New Brunswick is not open for business, a charge Doucet rejects.
“I was in the Opposition in the past and it’s your job to be critical of everything that you do. I don’t think that New Brunswick is, the doors are closed for New Brunswick, as a matter of fact they’re wide open. And we’re doing everything that we can to work with every sector, diversifying our economy.”
Doucet points to job announcements such as IBM and Westjet with more lined up.
