For 19 straight years, Saint John students, teachers and volunteers have been coming to the North end to plant marigolds and the 2016 edition was no exception.
Founder Barry Ogden says the event still brings him joy adding he loves to see the children smile.

He says every year the events grows. He adds it’s now up to 63 gardens and 56 schools this year.
The Marigold Awards were presented to recipients Carolyn Dannells of the Community Food Basket, Holly Singh of the Lunch Connection at St. John the Baptist-King Edward School, Shelley Scott of the West side food bank and Michael Smith who wrote the Marigold song
