A Saint John court ruling that denied a the National Alliance, based in the U.S., from inheritating a valuable collection of ancient coins and artifacts will not be overturned.
The ruling was upheld by the New Brunswick Court of Appeal and now the Supreme Court has decided not to hear the appeal from the Canadian Association of Free Expression without giving any reasons why.
Robert McCorkill, who died in Saint John in 2004, left his 250 thousand dollar estate to the National Alliance, described by Court of Queens Bench Justice William Grant as racist and hate inspired.
His sister, the province and the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs then launched a legal challenge of the will. They have been awarded legal costs by the Supreme Court.
