A Fredericton man who was acquitted on a drug charge will receive 200 thousand dollars.
Provincial Court Judge David Walker ordered the cash seized by the RCMP as the proceeds of crime to be returned to James Mallaley who’s in his early fifties.
Mallaley was charged back in the summer of 2014 with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.
Saint John lawyer Rod MacDonald defended him and says the judge didn’t find evidence presented by the prosecution witnesses added up.
