37 year old James Paul Turpin of Eel River Bar has been found guilty of second-degree murder in the death of two-year-old Kennedy Corrigan.
She died as a result of a massive brain injury in April of 2004. Kennedy was in Turpin’s care in Central Blissville at the time she was injured and died from her injuries a few days later. He claiomed she fell in the bathtub and hit her head.
The verdict of second degree murder carries a mandatory life sentence with no eligibility of parole for at least 10 years. A sentencing hearing will be held on August 3rd to determine how long he will have to serve before coming up for parole.
