Disagreement over credit card purchase fees means your Visa card won’t be accepted at Walmart locations across the country.
The escalating dispute between Visa and Walmart is over what the retail giant calls unacceptably high fees.
However, Visa says they offered Walmart one of the lowest rates available to any merchant within Canada.
Walmart argues the fees will impact their ability to deliver the lowest possible prices to customers
Visa slammed Walmart for choosing profit over convenience for customers.
The retail chain says Visa payments will be phased out starting in Thunder Bay in July and spreading across the country.
Walmart will still accept most other forms of payment including MasterCard, Amex, Interac and of course, cash.
Many customers are taking to social media to express their disappointment and frustration with both companies.
Many people were also upset with Walmart for telling them how they can pay.
Both companies posted their own statements about the problem.
