A man involved in a crash in Fredericton on Friday is now facing three charges including impaired driving causing death.
Emergency officials responded in the early morning hours Friday after a report that a vehicle had gone off the road onto the green on St. Anne’s Point Drive.
Early Sunday morning the body of a 24-year-old woman who had been in the vehicle at the time of the crash was recovered from the St. John River. Family members and friends held a candle light vigil over the weekend near the crash site for Jennifer Brewer.
The other person in the vehicle, the man, received only minor injuries. Speed and alcohol were factors in the crash and the two people in the vehicle weren’t wearing seatbelts.
26-year-old Marc Andre Doucet is also charged with dangerous driving causing death and driving with a blood alcohol level over 80mg per 100mL. He appeared in court today.
