Rockwood Park is home to Hannah and Jack’s Sunshine Headquarters.
It’s the Kiwanis playpark named in honour of Hannah and Jack Porter and their dad Jason Porter who died in a 2009 collision.
Christy Bursey is Hannah and Jack’s mom and Jason’s widow and she says it makes her happy to see community support and to know everyone remembers them.
She says it’s still difficult to talk about them but because some time has passed she is able to.

The memorial playground was originally supposed to be at Seawood school on the west side where Hannah was a student.
That plan changed but it was able to be built in Rockwood Park.
$42,000 was donated to the construction and matching funds were contributed by the Province and the City.
