St. Stephen’s brand new Visitor Information Centre is officially up and running at the new Irving complex.
Tourism, Heritage and Culture Minister, John Ames says now, tourists can get food, fuel, and information all in one spot.
“Our tourism industry represents a key economic generator for our province and is critical to New Brunswick’s heritage, culture, and recreational and entertainment industries. In fact, it contributes over a billion dollars in visitor spending each year.”
Ames says the tourism industry represents more than 3 % of the provincial GDP, which amounts to the GDP from the agriculture, forestry, and fishing industries combined.
Also on hand today for the ribbon cutting ceremony, St. Stephen Mayor Allan McEachern, Economic Development and local MLA Rick Doucet, and MP for South-West New Brunswick Karen Ludwig.
