Exciting news announced today as the Saint John Sea Dogs will host the 2017 Quebec Major Junior Hockey League draft.
QMJHL Commissioner Gilles Courteau says the recent success of the Sea Dogs had a major influence in their decision.
Courteau says everytime the league held an event in Saint John it was always first class and “very impressive”.
Victoria Clarke of Discover Saint John says the draft will bring roughly $1.5 million dollars in economic spin offs.
Sea Dogs President Trevor Georgie says the draft is a chance to “show the hockey world what we’re all about”.
The draft will be held from May 31st to June 3rd, 2017.
