Former Saint John Mayor Mel Norton says he was saddened to hear of the death of Elsie Wayne.
He describess her as dedicated to Saint John serving tenaciously as a city councillor, mayor and MP.
Saint John Sea Dogs CEO Scott McCain says Elsie worked proudly as Mayor and as MP to promote the City and the region to visitors and the business community.
McCain says she was also an avid hockey fan and a longtime supporter of the Sea Dogs.
