Gas prices are up above the dollar a litre mark again.
They took a big jump overnight, with the maximum price for regular self serve going up 4.8 cents a litre.
Senior Petroleum Analyst Dan McTeague with Gasbuddy.com is still confident that we will see more decreases in the weeks to come, for a couple of reasons, “First, of course with the end of driving season, it means demand is down and refineries will be left with a lot of inventory. That can only mean a downward pressure on prices. The second factor is that on September 15th, across Canada, the fuel spec changes. That means that we go from very expensive to make summer gasoline to less expensive to make winter gasoline. That is usually about a three cent decrease.”
As for diesel and furnace oil prices, they’re also up 4.1 cents a litre.
