Investigators taking samples from the fire scene at 75 Sewell Street as the Saint John Fire Department and City police probe the cause of the blaze.
Mark Wilson tells us the property has been turned back over to the owner and he tells one cat died in the blaze.
Wilson says the property will require clean up and the electrical system will need to be reviewed by the electrical inspector before the displaced tenants can get in.
The fire was kept to the apartment where it started on the first floor near the entrance.
