The Gallant Liberals are centralizing 74 contact centres in the province into four regional business centres.
One of them will be in Edmundston.
This move is expected to save more than $12 million dollars over 5 years, while offering better service and value for taxpayers.
Right now each of the contact centres operates independently with different service levels, call handling and while using different tools.
Through the consolidation project, workers in the four business centres will be trained to have a broader knowledge of government programs and services.
The business centre in Edmunston will be home to part of Service New Brunswick’s technical HelpDesk and the regional 911 centre with government employees working there able to serve the public and their clients 24/7.
