Children and staff are safe after a fire at the Courtenay Ave Daycare.
Saint John Fire Department Platoon Chief Eric Garland says the fire started from the stove.
He says the fire was quickly extinguished and was caused by boiling toothbrushes on top of the stove.
Garland says 17 firefighters responded and were on scene for roughly an hour.
He says all of the occupants and children were safely out of the building by the time fire crews showed up due to their fire safety plan.
