Bragging rights are up for grabs in a contest to name the best places in the country.
The Canadian Institute of Planners wants people to nominate their favourite street, neighbourhood, or attraction.
President Eleanor Mohammed says people just know when a place is special.
“You feel that it’s great, you don’t really know or think about what goes into making that great place, you just know that it’s great,” says Mohammed.
She says a panel of planners will also be selecting the places they feel are best planned.
Since the contest started in 2011, New Brunswick has won twice, for City Market in Saint John, and Queen Street in Fredericton.
New Brunswick also got two People’s Choice nominations for two different Public Spaces in McAdam, the Railway Station, and McAdam Lake Campground on Waulklehegan Lake.
Nominations are being accepted until the end of September.
