The Canadian Blood Services are in desperate need for new and returning donors to give the gift of life.
Peter MacDonald is the Director of Donor Relations in the Atlantic Region. He says 32,000 units of blood is needed across the country by Labour Day.
MacDonald says this week in New Brunswick the target is to collect 681 units of blood.
He says he doesn’t want to see the inventory dip to a point where a hospital patient would question whether blood would be available, which is why there hoping for more donors.
