Actor Gene Wilder has passed away at the age of 83.
Wilder was best known for his title role in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.
The actor is said to have died due to complications associated with Alzheimer’s disease.
He was diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma in 1989.
The actor is also known for a variety of comedic roles in such films as “The Producers”, “Blazing Saddles” and “Young Frankenstein”.
Wilder also frequently collaborated with director Mel Brooks and comedian Richard Pryor throughout his career.
