Trying to navigate the Employment Insurance system can often be a frustrating process according to information collected by Service Canada.
As a result, a federal review panel has been going across the country to gather feedback from stakeholders and a roundtable was held in Moncton today.
Quebec-based MP Remi Masse is leading the review and says based on what he’s heard so far, changes are needed to help those accessing Employment Insurance.
” Whether it’s simplifying the process, reducing the time it takes to get help from an agent (with Service Canada) or reducing the administrative burden for employers.for employers,” he notes.
Masse says many of those attending the roundtables have expressed frustration over trying to reach Service Canada for help either on the phone or in person.
The review panel will take all feedback into consideration and prepare a report which will be presented to the federal cabinet this fall.
