The provincial government released its budget update for the first time this year.
Their projected deficit is wide ranging with an $80 million dollar margin of error.
The province is projecting a deficit between $262.4 million and $342.4 million dollars.
The original forecasted deficit was said to be in the range of $347 million dollars.
Treasury Board President Roger Melanson says due to the lower than expected revenues from NB Power, the contingency fund is being lowered by $20 million dollars.
Melanson says the contingency fund is there to help with unforeseen events.
