The provincial government has signed a collective agreement with Local 1190 of the Canadian Union of Public Employees.
The group represents more than 1,500 employees, including tradespersons, operations workers, maintenance repair workers and labourers working mainly at the departments of Transportation and Infrastructure as well as Tourism, Heritage and Culture.
The five-year contract includes annual economic wage increases of one per cent and the implementation of a joint job evaluation study.
