A lawsuit launched last year against Irving Oil by its former president and CEO Mike Ashar has been settled.
Back in March of 2015 Ashar filed a $50-million lawsuit against the company in New Brunswick’s Court of Queen’s Bench.
Ashar was claiming improper conduct by members of the Irving family created an intolerable and poisoned work environment.
He was at Irving Oil from 2008 to 2013 and afterwards went to go work as the CEO and managing director of Cairn India, which is one of the largest independant oil companies in India.
A release says that this was settled amicably between both Irving Oil and Ashar and the terms of the settlement are confidential.
