The New Brunswick Women’s Council is applauding the final report from the province’s child care task force.
Executive director Beth Lyons says it’s important that the province moves toward having a comprehensive child care system.
Right now, Lyons says services are delivered in a patchwork, market-driven way.
Lyons says the goal is to ensure spaces are accessible and affordable.
She also agrees with the idea of recognizing child care as infrastructure and moving existing services toward a system supported by greater public investment.
