100 Women Who Care have given the Shining Horizons Therapeutic Riding Association on Red Head Road more than 21 thousand dollars.
The Association uses horses to help children with disabilities become more mobile and, in some cases, with their social development. Instructor Stacey Hope says the children become one with the horse which is amazing to watch. She points out for anyone with limited movement, a horse can move the body in 110 different ways which can’t be duplicated by any machine.
Hope says the extra money will allow the Association to buy another horse or two.
Since June of 2013, 100 Women Who Care in the Saint John have donated more than 343 thousand dolllars to 14 local charities.
