The Imperial Theatre will be making a presentation tonight to Rothesay Council asking for more financial support after appearing before Common Council last week.
Executive Director Lee Bolton says the restoration project underway at the theatre costs $3 million dollars.
Bolton says she didn’t ask for a specific amount of funding from the city.
She says it was disappointing when the last common council agreed to provide $100,000 dollars over four years, but only ended up being able to give $50,000.
Bolton admits it was difficult to expect a certain amount of funding, but not receive it all.
She says she wishes the Imperial Theatre had the kind of support of capital funding that theatres in Fredericton and Moncton have.
