The Telus Cup has left the largest legacy fund in the tournament’s history after it was held in Quispamsis in April.
Chair Aaron Kennedy says the tournament made $175,000, which will be put back into the community to help hundreds of young kids play hockey.
$60,000 will be given to P.R.O Kids, which was the number one beneficiary of the tournament.
P.R.O Kids Manager David Dobbelsteyn says the donation will allow roughly 200 children to play hockey over the next couple of years.
Dobbelsteyn says it’s the largest donation they’ve ever received.
Kennedy says $40,000 will be given to nine local minor hockey association’s extending from Sussex all the way to St. Stephen.
The rest of the money will go to Hockey New Brunswick.
