Calling all performers, or those who have a desire to act.
Auditions are now on for the upcoming performance of Oliver at the Capitol Theatre in Moncton.
They’re looking for 40 to 50 people, consisting of main roles, and those who may be cast for a small part, to be part of a crowd or to sing.
But Director Marshall Button says you need to be prepared to work hard, “It’s quite a grind, and it’s very intense working from 12 to 8pm for about two and a half weeks, except the weekends, when we will work mornings until around supper time.”
He says they like to look at all of the local talent first, and they’re looking for cast members of all shapes and sizes, and of all ages, “There are crowds, there are mobs, the are street sellers, so it’s pretty open at this point, Anybody who has had experience or anyone who has a certain amount of talent can audition. In the Sound of Music, we had a number of people who said this was something on their bucket list, and they were lucky enough to get a role,” “Button notes.
Oliver will be performed at the Capitol Theatre from February 24th until March 5th. Tickets are on sale now.
