It’s a sad day for hockey fans in Charlotte County.
The St. Stephen Aces releasing a statement this morning that says three of their players were involved in a motor vehicle accident yesterday afternoon.
St. Stephen RCMP say just before 5pm Wednesday, a vehicle driving on Route 3 in Bailey, left the road, hit a power pole, and rolled. Two 18 year olds and a 19 year old, all players on the St. Stephen Aces Jr. A Hockey team, were involved in the crash. Two of them were treated and released, the third was transported to hospital in Saint John with “potentially life-threatening injuries”.
The Jr. A team says, “We are keeping the young man in our thoughts and prayers and ask our fans and our extended Aces family and the hockey community to do the same.”
In respect to the family’s privacy, names of the players are not being released at this time.
Two home games in St. Stephen for Friday, Sept 16th, and Saturday, September 17th, as well as a third game for Sunday, September 18th in Dieppe have all been postponed and will be rescheduled.
The release goes on to say, if you have purchased single-game tickets for either of the Aces home games, they will be honored at the rescheduled games.
