The Concerned Citizens of Charlotte County group are once again asking for your support.
Co-chair John Gardner says they are hosting another Town Hall meeting at the Garcelon Civic Center on September 24th, at 2pm.
He says they have been busy since the closure of the operating room at the Charlotte County Hospital was halted. “We’re going to have a range of speakers, and the big topic on the agenda, of course is going to be the [Charlotte County] Hospital. Enhancing services there, and ensuring that what we have stays.”
Gardner points to the rally in July in which over 500 people showed their support for CCH and were against the closure of the operating room.
By New Brunswick Day, August 1st, Premier Brian Gallant came to St. Stephen for celebrations and told the crowd he would urge Horizon Health to keep the operating room open. WIthin 24 hours, the closure was halted.
Gardner says that support is crutial, “The big thing that we want to get across is we need people to come out, show their support for Charlotte County Hospital, because everytime when something like that happens, you’re sending a very clear message to government that what we have is important, and that you’re willing to stand up and be heard, and fight for it.”
