The uptown area’s only liquor store is slated to close its doors permanently in the very near future.
The NB Liquor store in the Prince Edward Square Mall says it will be closing this upcoming Tuesday.
The new liquor store that’s currently being built at the corner of Wellington Row and Union — across from the Jellybean buildings — is replacing the one at the mall, though there will be quite a stretch between when the mall location closes and the new liquor store opens.
NB Liquor’s Mark Harbour says construction of the new store is on schedule, and while they don’t have an exact date of opening, they expect it to be before Christmas.
While there are places to buy beer in the uptown area, like Picaroons and Big Tide, the only liquor store nearby is the Prince Edward Square Mall location.
