Saint John got a visit from one of the candidates for the leadership of the Federal Conservative Party.
M-P Micheal Chong, who represents a riding in Ontario, says the party has to be more inclusive and can’t dismiss climate change. He says people expect the party to come up with a credible plan to reduce emissions. Having said that, Chong supports the Energy East pipeline.
He adds the party has to reach out to people with diverse points of view and concentrate more on what he calls the pocketbook issues instead of getting bogged down in controversial social and cultural issues.
