Moosehead is going back to it’s roots with a new small-batch brewery on Saint John’s waterfront.
It will be built next year on Water Street near Princess Street and Pugsley slip.
President Andrew Oland says the location meets their needs because it’s right in the centre of all the customers they want to speak with, entertain and serve beer to.
He says that is cruise ship passengers, tourists and locals adding the location on Water street at the bottom of Princess is close to the entertainment distict, Market Square and Trinity Royal.
Oland says they are still in the design phase so they are working through what it will look like with a Halifax architect being hired for the project.
He says this new brewery will be the innovation centre for Moosehead.
The cost will be in the millions and where the current facility on the west side isn’t set up for tours, the new facility uptown will be.
It’s set to open in the latter part of 2017.
The Oland family opened their first brewery on the Halifax harbour in 1867.
