A verdict has come down in the high profile drug trial of two men who were arrested in the three year J Tornado investigation.
34 year old Shane Williams of Smithtown was found guilty on 7 charges and 39 year old Joshua Kindred of Saint John guilty on five counts. The charges include trafficking in cocaine, conspiracy to traffic and possession for the purpose of trafficking. There’s no date for sentencing.
A total of 28 people were charged.
The RCMP intercepted 30 thousand messages from cellphones police had supplied and documented 7 cocaine shipments headed to Saint John in the summer of 2014.
A hearing will be held on the defense contention of entrapment.
