The Concerned Citizens of Charlotte County group are determined to keep services running at the Charlotte County Hospital.
Co-chair John Gardner says, “Charlotte County, right now, is in a very interesting spot because the province is watching Charlotte County and the way that they are handling rural issues here. A lot of times we hear people say, ‘Well, there’s nothing that we can do’. Well, we’ve proven time and time again that yes, there is something that you can do. So that’s why we are going to do another Town Hall [meeting].”
Gardner says there has been a lot in the news lately of Premier Brian Gallant and Finance Minister Cathy Rogers, both claiming that the Charlotte County Hospital is safe. Gardner says that’s a story we’ve all been told before.
“Even though we are hearing the stories that [Charlotte County Hospital] is safe from the politicians, we’re hearing behind the scenes that there’s still things going on, there’s still rumblings, and there’s still an attempt being made to decrease service.”
The Concerned Citizens group are holding a Town Hall meeting this Saturday, at the Garcelon Civic Centre in St. Stephen, beginning at 2pm.
The meeting will highlight what we can do to protect services at CCH, and Gardner says a large show of support will send a clear message to the Premier.
