Shaun Marie Doucette was shocked at what she saw when she parked and made her way to the entrance to the Regional Hospital to visit her mom last weekend after hearing that hospital property was smoke free.
She says there were mounds of cigarette butts curbside which resembled little piles of snow.
Doucette says it appears the smokers are wandering over to the university property to light up and then the butts get blown back onto hospital property because there are no containers for them to dispose of their cigarettes.
Horizon Health says patients are still able to smoke if they do so off hospital property.
