Schools across PEI remain closed today, after a potential threat was received.
RCMP say at around 9 this morning, they received a call from the RCMP in Ottawa stating that they had received a threat via fax.
The threat stated that bombs were placed in a number of schools in PEI, but it didn’t specify which ones.
The school board was contacted and emergency plans were put into effect, and all schools including some daycares and UPEI were evacuated…
Police attended and found no threats.
Schools are expected to reopen tomorrow.
As far as RCMP can recall, this is the first time something like this has ever happened in PEI.
Thinking of everyone on PEI and hoping for a safe evacuation. https://t.co/ECaQAPDMjS
