David Ortiz hit a three run homer in the seventh inning as the Boston Red Sox took the Baltimore Orioles 5-2 for their sixth win in a row. Jackie Bradley Jr. also homered for the Red Sox who now lead the O’s by five games with 11 remaining. Toronto is in second place in the American League East, four games back after a 10-2 win at Seattle with J.A. (Jay) Happ winning his 20th of the season. Russell Martin and Michael Saunders each hit two run homers for the Blue Jays.
In the National League, there’s now a three way tie for the wild card after San Francisco shut out the Los Angeles Dodgers 2-0 while St. Louis beat up on Colorado 10-5 and the New York Mets lost to Atlanta 5-4.
