Autumn has only just begun in New Brunswick but the Weather Network is already taking a sneak peak at the upcoming winter season.
Meteorologist Michael Carter says a strong El Nino pattern brought milder than normal conditions for most of the country last winter.
However, Carter says a different scenario is in store for this year.
“Unfortunately, the bad news here is that the El Nino pattern has broken down. That is no longer in play for the upcoming winter season which means we are expecting a return to more classic winter-like weather,” he notes.
Coming in mid-October, Carter adds forecasters at the Weather Network will be releasing more details about storms and snowfall amounts for the winter.
