The two candidates for president of the United States verbally duked it out in the first of three presidential debates this fall with a few jabs focusing on Hillary Clinton’s email scandal and Donald Trump’s refusal to release his tax returns.
Republican nominee Trump says he’ll release his tax returns when Clinton, the Democratic nominee, releases her deleted emails.
“As soon as she releases them, I will release my tax returns and my lawyers they say, don’t do it,” Trump says.
Clinton believes Trump is hiding something and listed off some reasons as to why she thinsk he won’t release his tax returns including him not being as rich or charitable as he claims.
“The question is, were he ever to get near the White House, what would be those conflicts? Who does he owe money to?” Clinton asks.
When it comes to the private email server controversy, Clinton says she made a mistake that she takes responsibility however Trump believes it wasn’t a mistake.
The next presidential debate is happening on October 9 at Washington University.
