As Environment Ministers meet to talk about how to achieve clean growth, the Conservation Council’s Dr. Louise Comeau doubts whether the Energy East pipeline will ever be built.
She doesn’t see how production from the oilsands can be increased if the federal government wants to attain its climate change targets.

The First Nations claim they can veto any energy project by virtue of the U-N declaration on the rights of Indigenous People. Natural Resources Minister Jim Carr isn’t going so far as to go along with that. Carr has to name new panel members for the resumption of the National Energy Board hearings on Energy East.
